1. Being is. The careening questions of how and why run smack up against the fact of is and can go no further.

2. What is, is subject to dispute. But is, is given.

3. In this respect we have advanced no further than the first primitive organism delighting in existence.

4. Nor in this respect will we ever advance further than that first primitive organism, no matter how much we learn about the nature of things. For the nature of is, is beyond investigation, though the nature of what is, is a road without end.
