For those who do not often see their children,
A special greeting on this Father's Day!
There's little joy when one is far away,
Hard put to answer the repeated question.
Even so, a child is a treasure,
Returning love for love for one's whole life,
'Mid marital distress, 'mid inner strife,
Self beyond oneself, a lasting pleasure.
Days apart do not diminish love,
As years of yearning doubtlessly will prove.
Yet even now it moves you beyond measure.
