New Year's After New Year's

A New Year’s poem comparing the passing years to one wave crashing after another:
New Year's after New Year's,
Each a wintry wave!
White cap after white cap,
Yearning for the shore!
Endless ranks of billows,
All headed for the grave,
Raise their hoary crests,
'Til they, like most Time’s guests,
Stall, crash, and are no more.
