Easter and Passover Are About

A poem to a child of mixed heritage about choosing a religion:
Easter and Passover are about
Some pretty serious things:
One, a crucifixion, and
The other, slavery.
But they tell of miracles,
The kind from which faith springs:
One, a resurrection, and
One, a parted sea.
Which faith are you? You have your choice:
Christian, Jewish, none,
Or something else, it’s up to you,
Though you should take your time.
Learn, learn, learn about them both
Before you choose just one,
And about yourself, and more,
And then your faiths define.
