Thirty-five now finds himself immersed
Head-high in what a life of love demands.
Invested in the happiness of others,
Rejoicing in their joy, with joy he smothers
The dreams he once held trembling in his hands.
Yet in such sacrifice he is well-versed.

For love requires that we put others first,
In tribute to our fathers and our mothers,
Vivid equally, the best and worst,
Even as they struggled with love's commands.
