Seventy's a time of golden light.
Evening can be scented as night nears.
Vanity dissolves in whispering air
Even as the inner fire burns bright.
Nor does one's deep foundation need repair:
The loves of friends and family are still there,
Yet solid with the weight of well-lived years.
