Silent snow, gentle snow,
Easy in the window's glow
As flakes descending thick and slow
Spiral down to fields below.

Old refrains, sweet refrains,
Now fill the night as daylight wanes,
So beautiful no blight remains.
Gripped by winter, gladness reigns!

Remember, then, remember well:
Each inner light will darkness quell;
Each inner fire will warm, as well,
The bliss that's caught in winter's spell.

In joy and celebration sing,
Nor heed the words the cold winds bring,
Greeting cares with caroling,
Singing till the turn towards spring!
