Some say I was more a dog than cat.
All right, I did love people. Even children.
Maybe everyone remarked on that.
Maybe it was remarkable. So what?
You loved it in me, my significant humans.

When strangers came to the house, out I came.
How could I not bask in their affection?
A sociable cat! My, my! most would exclaim,
More charmed than not by my strange predilection.
My personality became my fate --
Years on years of love no years could sate.
